Scene 1
Hamida goes to rouse Ibadat up from her sleep because she is sleeping outside of her room. Why are you sleeping outside the room, she asks? As per Ibadat, I slept off while sitting here. After arguing with Subhan, I walked out of the room. When Hamida notices a hockey stick there, she inquires as to whether they were fighting physically. You two are beyond me; what’s going on? Subhan arrives and tells me that it’s not the other way around—she defeats me.
We battled because she kept secrets from me and she doesn’t tell me anything. Ibadat is told by Hamida not to do that, asking, “What are you hiding from him?” A marriage shouldn’t have any secrets. Tell him now. Ibadat averts his gaze. Just tell him, Hamida says, what are you hiding? Actually, says Ibadat. When Mannat arrives, he tells Subhan to prepare for the meeting. Subhan nods, says, “You should ask her; she might tell you the truth,” and then he walks away. Ibadat is asked to go get ready by Hamida. Mannat stops her and informs her that she is not needed in the office because we have a business meeting.
She should respect her boundaries because Hamida is your boss and has the authority to fire you. Mannat claims it’s also my office. According to Hamida, Dua gave the company to Subhan and Ibadat so she could fire you. Mannat suggests you should ask her whereabouts these days, but you keep siding with her. What do you mean, she asks? Mannat replies you ought to ask her, and she walks off. Hamida queries what she had said. Ibadat says nothing further and walks away. This girl is an idiot, according to Hamida.
Scene 2
Nigar and Gulnaz are preparing. When Mannat arrives, he says, “Are you both ready to help me?” We’re all ready, Nigar says. Nigar advises her not to worry at all, but she tells them to be on the lookout.
Dua receives food from Ibadat, who argues that food is necessary for energy. Dua remarks, “You seem stressed out. Are things okay?” Yes, she responds. Dua adds, “You can share anything with me; you can’t lie to me.” Is there no problem at all between you and Subhan? Ibadat assures us that all is well and not to worry. You don’t always need to be powerful and rational, according to Dua. “I won’t let anything happen to my relationships,” declares Ibadat. She gives her a hug and feels obligated to keep Mannat safe.
While getting ready, Mannat tells Subhan to head to the workplace quickly. Ibadat assists him in retrieving his files as he gets ready. “You are forgetting me, I will come with you,” she stops him and says. You are not required, he says. Ibadat says the contract needs to be signed by both of us. There’s something else you’re overlooking. After adjusting his collar and drawing him in closer, he walks out. She says, “Wait for me; I’m coming.”
Gulnaz contacts Mannat and informs him that he is heading outside as Subhan heads to his car, and Ibadat is in her room. Mannat advises following our plan exactly. She says, “I just hope everything goes as per the plan,” as she stands close to the balcony.
Ibadat says Subhan went for the workplace and left this here when Gulnaz stops her as she is about to leave her room and offers her his wallet. Ibadat claims he’s already gone. Gulnaz advises you should go check from the balcony since he might be outside.
Ibadat steps out onto the balcony and searches the area for Subhan. Mannat is standing underneath a pot that Nigar has tied to a thread on the balcony. The pot is about to fall on her as she tugs at the thread, but Subhan intervenes and pulls Mannat away. Subhan notices Ibadat, who is screaming for her while standing on the balcony. Subhan scoops up Mannat while she cries out in agony. Ibadat bolts, but they’ve vanished. Ibadat claims someone threw the pot on her, but who? She discovers the pot attached to a thread.
